From the label: Romano-Egyptian about AD100 Encaustic and gilding on wood; pigment and gilding on linen Attributed to the Isidora Master Isidora’s name is written in Greek on the left side of the linen wrapping surrounding her portrait. She wears a gold wreath, pearl earrings, and necklaces set with pearls, emeralds, and a large garnet. Her linen was dyed red, like the wrappings of the mummy of Herakleides on view in the center of the gallery.
