This mask fit directly over the face of the mummy of Khonsu, son of Sennedjem. The similar mask of Tutankhamun was made of gold. Model by Anthony Barbieri-Low, based on photos by Michael Chen and Kara Cooney. Khonsu's mask was placed over the head and shoulders of his mummy. It is made of a wooden frame and cartonnage, a material made of plaster and linen. The shape is similar to the upper portions of Khonsu's inner coffin (86.1.2a, b).Other objects in the collection that were discovered in the same tomb are numbered 86.1.1–86.1.29
