Media Upload

In entering the items using the pull down menu start first with the most specific item you know. The higher levels will be automatically entered. For example, if you know the name of the king, start by entering in the name of the king; don’t enter the dynasty or period, for these will be filled in automatically.

Object type - statue, tablet etc.



Object Material - It is possible to add more than one item for Material (e.g. wood, stone).

Location of where object is currently housed

All Required Fields must be completed before the Optional Media Properties can be entered.

the timeline is meant only to provide standardized periods for this database and not set a standard for the Egyptology field.

Where was the object discovered

Title/Description is a free-form text field where you can type in as much as you want. It is a searchable field through the Universal Search in the Search page.

Multiple File Upload

Select the 'Add Files' button to add files to the upload queue. You can select multiple files from the 'Add Files' window or you can simply Drag and Drop files. The primary image will be on the top of the list, all other images will be associated with the primary image. You may select to upload multiple images without setting a relation to the first image. Doing this will apply the same classification to all images.

Uploaded files must be of type: GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG. Maximum size of upload is 5MB per file. Filenames will automatically remove characters outside of standard file naming conventions. Special characters such as ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) ` ; < > ? , [ ] { } ' " and | will be replaced by a dash character ("-")
